Due to business growth, our client are looking to recruit an experienced Import Customs Clerk to be based at their site in Heathrow. They are a world leader in air and sea freight logistics with opportunities for progression for the right candidate.
 
Import Customs Clerk – The Rewards

• Salary up to £32,000 pa
• Shift work: 4 days on/ 4 days off – 07:00 - 19:00

Import Customs Clerk – Requirements 

• Previous experience working in a similar role, handling perishable goods is essential
• Experience working on a freight import desk (ideally 3 years)
• Experienced with completing freight documentation, specifically full C88 entries
• Experience with customs clearance documentation
• Confident in the end to end process, from quotation, through booking and documentation process
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work successfully in a team.
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Computer literacy in MS Outlook and MS Excel would be an advantage
• Valid driver’s license

 Import Customs Clerk – Responsibilities 

• Liaise with overseas company offices, partners and overseas agents
• Experience in the completion of full C88 customs declarations and all that entails (classification, valuation, customs procedures and CPC codes, knowledge of Duty and VAT) – Essential to the role
• Familiar with dealing with HMRC and other government agencies as required
• Accurately maintain all records relating to the import
• Be proactive and resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Provide a high level of customer service
• Requirement to collect and lodge documents with carriers, and other agencies, therefore a drivers licence is required
