Our client is a leading international logistics service provider with a global network, they are looking for an experienced Road Freight Export Operator to join their busy transport hub in Bradford.
 
The successful candidate will plan International vehicles with freight directly from many different manufacturers effectively and efficiently, all while keeping costs low to maximise trailer profitability. If you are experienced in managing European Road Freight Operations then we want to hear from you.
 
Road Freight Export Operator – The Rewards

• Salary £33,000 - £35,000 pa
• Mon – Fri, 9 am to 5.30 pm with shift variation every 4 weeks
• Week 4: Mon, Wed & Thurs 9 am to 5.30 pm, Tues & Fri 9 am up to 11 pm & Sat 8 am – 12 pm

Road Freight Export Operator – Requirements 

• At least 5 years’ experience in European road freight delivery environment
• Enthusiastic, committed, flexible and positive approach to work
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative
• Strong commercial awareness of European road freight environment
• Excellent time management skills and positive team working attitude
• Strong decision-making skills
• Excellent attention to detail skills
• Excellent communication/telephone skills. Strong administrative and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexibility to ensure work is completed 

 Road Freight Export Operator – Responsibilities  

• Promote the companies European road and dedicated express services, help win new business using bespoke marketing tools and develop existing accounts
• Obtain cost quotes for transport, export and import, operate and control all movements
• Maximise profitability whilst providing excellent levels of customer service
• Account Management, quoting prospective customers, liaising with UK and European suppliers, customs management, operational and office support
• Sourcing trailers and competitive rates from European Trailer Operators
• Liaising with customs agents/brokers to ensure swift clearance is made
• Planning routes efficiently and effectively, making provisions for driver restrictions / requirements and taking into account customs clearance stops prior to planned deliveries
• Raising any necessary customs documentation
• Working within the operations team to develop the department
• Ensuring all company systems are updated accurately and on a timely basis and relevant paperwork is in place
• Reviewing and updating plans and communicate any changes in good time of arrangements being made
• Offer solutions and alternatives to meet customer demands. To meet and exceed customer expectations
• Good understanding of Incoterms and their interaction with shippers’ instructions
• Checking on the International vehicles and confirming deliveries have been made
• Checking T1‘s have been released upon delivery, if not, liaise with broker / partner
• Charging and rating the trailer files
