Electrical Design Engineer – Requirements  

• A suitable, recognised electrical or controls qualification
• Recent electrical design experience in a similar industry
• Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
• Ability to work well with others
• Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• Knowledge or experience of any of the following would be an advantage:
• PLC, HMI systems
• ATEX design/installations
• Machine safety
• Commercial skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001

Electrical Design Engineer – Responsibilities  
 
The successful candidate will have experience of electrical design of low voltage assemblies, incorporating a good understanding of electrical regulations, standards and best practice.
 
Main duties will include:

• Understanding and interpreting customers’ technical requirements
• Liaising with customers to clarify requirements
• Design of electrical power and controls systems in compliance with regulations
• Procurement of materials required to build the assembly
• Generating technical documentation as required
• Leading and monitoring workflow in accordance with the agreed production schedule
• Working with colleagues in the manufacturing team
• Overseeing delivery and/or installation if necessary
• Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system
