About the company
 
Our UK based client is as a global exporter and market leader for over 200 years, they have a great role available for a Factory Inspector, with continuous development opportunities to join their Wakefield manufacturing facility on a permanent basis.
 
As Factory Inspector you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance throughout the production process, and on completion of the final product. 
You will be key liaison between all production operatives, production management and the group welding engineer. The Factory Inspector should not only reactively ensure quality assurance but should seek to drive continuous improvement on quality in a pro-active way.

Factory Inspector - Requirements
  • Willingness to learn and develop through internal and external training courses.
  • Can read and inspect to detailed drawings.
  • Basic understanding of code EN & ASME.
  • CSWIP Qualification is essential.
  • BINDT – PCN Level 2 (MPI/ DPI) qualification is essential.
  • Good concentration skills for using machinery and equipment safely and accurately.
  • Practical hand skills for using tools and equipment.
  • Some mathematical ability.
  • Able to work without direct supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail for working in accordance with quality standards.
  • Works with a safety-first ethos and has a sound understanding and respect for health and safety.
  • Familiar with an engineering/ manufacturing background.
  • Computer literate with experience of MS programmes, e.g., word.
Factory Inspector - Responsibilities 
  • Maintaining quality standards to meet ISO9001 quality system compliance.
  • End to End responsibility for quality inspection reports including maintaining, issuing and close out.
  • Close liaison working with the Welding engineer to support Weld set ups and Inspection.
  • Set out of contract items for Radiography, Inspection of Coils and Modules.
  • Carry out in house MPI and DPI in line with Code requirements and sign off reports for data books.
  • Work closely with other members of the Quality team and Factory Supervisors to assess and resolve any internal issues.
  • Effectively manage self and workload as a proactive self-starter.
  • Excellent and adaptable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prompt notification and escalation of errors, damages, rejections, and quarantine.
  • Participate in other Factory activities as reasonably requested.
  • Actively manage and take pro-active approach to health and safety and environmental issues in all aspects (using our relevant manuals/training).
