Project Engineer - District Heating - Hybrid - London – Up to £60,000

Due to company growth a new opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer experienced in district heating.
They are looking for a driven and organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for learning. You must have a keen interest in engineering with complimentary qualifications or experience which demonstrates an ability to understand technical aspects.

Project Engineer – Requirements
- Experience in district heating engineering preferred
- An engineering background and/ or qualification e.g., HND/ HNC or degree in Process / Chemical / Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent organisation skills, organising self, others, and resources to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling strong internal and external relationships.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a can-do attitude.
- Acts with initiative and enjoys problem-solving.
- Technical knowledge related to projects may also be required, and an engineering interest is a must-have.
- An ability to read and understand technical drawings and design documentation.
- Good knowledge and demonstrable experience of using Microsoft projects.
- Understanding of engineering standards and processes.
- District heating and/ or MEP construction experience.
Project Engineer - Responsibilities
- Support project initiation- check feasibility, define stakeholders, limitations, and design management plans.
- Read, understand, and communicate the client specifications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of your client.
- Provide engineering support to the Project Manager and Project Director.
- Coordinate and oversee the manning plan for employees, subcontractors, and specific skill requirements.
- Responsible for the preparation, issuing and control of all QA documentation in relation to engineering activities.
- Oversee the preparation of site jobs, tools, and consumables with Site Supervisors.
- Be diligent in checking the quality and accuracy of support documentation provided by other departments, which includes technical information.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate risks to ensure delivery is on time.
- Be a team player in the projects delivery team
- Experience in MEP/BISRIA specific to district heating or similar.
- Evaluate successes and challenges on projects closing to enhance learning for your next project.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, internally, and externally, adapting communication skills as required.
