Head of Finance – FMCG – Telford – Salary up to £75,000

About the Company

Our client is an established supplier of quality produce to foodservice professionals, wholesalers and retailers across the UK and through international trade. The company is currently looking to appoint a Head of Finance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Management Team overseeing all financial activities and acting in an advisory role, analysing financial results and translating them into actions to drive meaningful actions.

Head of Finance – Requirements

• Ideally educated to Degree level in Finance, accounting or related discipline
• Professional qualifications:
• Certified Management Accountant - CMA
• Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA
• Associated Chartered Accountant – ACA
• You will have experience of operating in a similar role at a similar level
• Previous experience gained within an FMCG / manufacturing environment
• Have strong technical and financial reporting skills
• Preparation of annual accounts, information for audits, seeking and applying for grants, investments and R&D tax credits
• Strong IT skills
• Results driven, capable of prioritising and strong time management skills
• Ability to communicate and influence confidently across different departments and levels. Maintain strong working relationships

Head of Finance – Responsibilities

• Oversee company accounts and investments
• Liaise with Operations in developing financial and operational planning
• Provide weekly/ monthly commentary of accounts, dashboards and KPI reports
• Assess results and identify trends in reports, create forecasts and action plans
• Identifying areas for improvements in margin and KPI’s.
• Manage finance teams including purchasing, providing support and advice, and managing performance following procedures.
• Ensuring that all financial transactions are filed and recorded correctly, managing audits and ensure full compliance at all times.
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
• Present findings to relevant stakeholders in the business
• Provide guidance, support and timely management information to Senior Management to enable risk management and business opportunities.
• Adhere to H&S Policy and safe working procedures and promote a safe working culture, leading by example
