About the company
 
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer with a proven track record of working within a fast-paced, process-based manufacturing / FMCG environment.
 
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will support and work closely with the maintenance team, ensuring machines, equipment and property are all maintained to ensure production is maximised while working to planned schedules.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Requirements
  • Experience working in a similar 'clean' FMCG manufacturing environment
  • A time-served engineer/recognised engineering trade apprenticeship and/or HNC in electrical engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience within the FMCG sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of site electrical distribution
  • Experience and a good understanding of PLCs, fault finding, 3 phase, DC motors, relays, sensors, and drives
  • Previous experience working in a 'clean' manufacturing/factory environment preferably within the food/pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working on a wide range of manufacturing and packaging machinery
  • Computer Literate, with a good general understanding of the Microsoft suite including Excel and Outlook
Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager on a daily basis to ensure machine 'down time' is kept to a minimum
  • Identify and solve day to day maintenance problems
  • Perform PPM (planned preventative maintenance) schedules as required
  • Involvement with projects and continuous improvements
  • Perform duties from the maintenance non-urgent job list
  • Accurately complete all documentation in a timely fashion
  • Accurately create and update relevant SOP's as necessary
  • Identify and solve day to day machine and plant related problems
  • Carry out maintenance activities on buildings, plant, and facilities to improve quality and cost effectiveness
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager to ensure the availability of spare machine parts whilst keeping costs to a minimum
  • Set up various packaging machinery as and when required and assist with the installation of new equipment
  • Provide cover and assist Machine Setters as required
  • Communicate effectively with the team and inform the Engineering Manager of any machine faults/difficulties at any time throughout the day.
  • Provide training and coaching to other employees and team members as requested by the Engineering Manager.
