Customs Compliance Coordinator - Manufacturing - Aberdeen - Up to £45,000.

About the Company

The client is a multinational business who are a worldwide provider of equipment and components used predominantly in the oil and gas industry. Due to growth they are looking to add a Customs Compliance Coordinator to their team. 
 
The Customs Compliance Coordinator will manage the day to day running of the Inward Processing Authorisations for the UK Business Units. You will be keen to take on challenges, remain current on relevant customs law and regulations, with respect to products imported by Company operations and Company policies and procedures related to the import export process.

Customs Compliance Coordinator - Requirements
  • Experience with Inward Processing (IP) is essential
  • Knowledge of tariff classification, valuation and origin
  • Knowledge of import duties
  • Experience of working a customs role for a manufacturer would be advantageous
  • Will still consider candidates with customs experience from a freight forwarder
  • Working with in import/export with an understanding of documentation requirements. 
  • Commodity code knowledge is desirable
  • Customs entries experience is desirable
  • Understanding valuation methods
Customs Compliance Coordinator - Responsibilities
  • Manage current Inward Processing Authorisations
  • Track imports/exports on Excel spreadsheet or through Duty Management System
  • Manage throughput period of IP Equipment
  • Prepare quarterly bills of discharge into HMRC
  • Manage third party approved vendors in line with current Inward Processing Authorisation
  • Supporting the Manager of Europe Regional Compliance in Customs Audits
  • Knowledge of commodity codes
  • Manage customs clearance for equipment being imported into IP
  • Manage customs clearance for equipment being re-exported out of IP
  • Recordkeeping in line with HMRC guidance
